Jayden Daniels apparently isn’t satisfied with just owning No. 5—now he wants to redefine what it means across the football world, even submitting a list of proposed rule changes for the NFL and NCAA.

WASHINGTON D.C. – Following Jayden Daniels’ recent cease-and-desist request to LSU over the use of his former No. 5 jersey, his legal team has apparently decided that one jersey dispute simply isn’t enough.

Sources say Daniels has now submitted a new list of demands to the NFL, NCAA and, presumably, anyone else who has ever had the audacity to use the number 5.

The Jayden Daniels Demands:
  • Confiscate all Donovan McNabb No. 5 jerseys. The NFL must make its best effort to locate, confiscate and destroy every McNabb jersey bearing the offensive number. Officials acknowledge this could take decades.
  • Retire No. 5 at LSU. The NCAA should also consider retiring the number nationwide, just to eliminate any future confusion.
  • Rename the number 5. From this point forward, the number will officially be known as “Jayden Daniels.”
  • Update football terminology. “2nd & 5” will become “2nd & Jayden Daniels.”
  • Rename the 5-yard line. It will now be known as “The Jayden Daniels Line.”
  • Update the game clock. Five minutes remaining will be announced as “Jayden Daniels on the clock.”
  • Authorize the abbreviation “JD.” Daniels’ attorneys have graciously approved “JD” for television commentators, since saying “Jayden Daniels” every five seconds may become inconvenient.

And finally, anyone caught wearing No. 5 without permission will be required to surrender the jersey and attend a mandatory seminar titled: “So You Thought Five Was Just a Number?”
